  • The Sushi Experience is a hands-on sushi making masterclass led by award-winning chef Antonio De Gracia. Unlike a typical cookery class, this is an intimate, expert-led session where you’ll learn authentic sushi techniques developed over a 37-year career in some of the world’s finest kitchens.

  • No experience is required. The session is designed for complete beginners as well as food enthusiasts who want to refine their skills under expert guidance, perfect for those seeking sushi lessons.

  • You’ll learn the foundations of authentic sushi-making, including how to prepare sushi rice, select and handle sushi-grade fish, and create maki and nigiri by hand. You’ll also be shown Antonio’s unique signature sashimi cutting technique in this Japanese suchi making class.

  • Each session lasts approximately 2 hours, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturdays, providing ample time for an immersive sushi making experience.

  • The Sushi Experience runs every Saturday at 3pm, with additional private bookings available on request.

  • You’ll be welcomed with a Japanese-inspired cocktail or a cold Asahi beer, guided through the sushi-making process, and enjoy eating everything you create at the end of the session.

  • East at West One is next to a Pay and Display car park. There is also free parking on the main street where East at West One are located.

  • The experience is £50 per person, or £40 for vegetarian participants.

  • Yes, a vegetarian option is available at a reduced price of £40 per person, for those who prefer a plant-based sushi making class.

  • The experience is designed to be intimate, so small to medium groups are welcome. We accommodation individuals, small groups, private bookings and corporate groups. Private sessions can be arranged, making it flexible for different group sizes and occasions.
